Bishop Eddie Ferguson, Sr.

Senior Pastor

Bishop Eddie Ferguson was born in Ashburn, Georgia, and at the tender age of eight, his family made the life-changing move to Houston, Texas. There, he enrolled in the Houston Independent School District and became a standout athlete at Houston Sterling High School. But in 1975, a greater calling stirred within him—he became a born-again Christian and exchanged his athletic uniform for the full armor of God. Even as a teenager, his passion for the Word of God set him apart.

After completing high school, he continued his educational journey at Massey Business School, graduating with honors in 1979. Early in his faith walk, Bishop Ferguson was rooted in the United Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Bishop James L. Kilgore. A gifted teacher even in his youth, he led multiple Bible studies weekly and became known for his depth in Scripture.

It was during this season of ministry that he met and married the lovely Lorna McCalister in 1980. Together, they have been blessed with two sons, Eddie Jr. and Edward Daniel, and their legacy now extends to seven cherished grandchildren.

Bishop Ferguson holds certifications in Biblical Studies and Christian Counseling and remains committed to lifelong learning. Over the years, he helped establish three churches and, in 1991, launched a small Bible study in his home with just two people. That humble gathering blossomed into what is now Life Tabernacle Church, located on the southeast side of Houston.

In 1999, Life Tabernacle joined the World Assemblies of Restoration (WAR), where Bishop Ferguson was appointed District Elder, later elevated to Overseer, and ultimately consecrated as a Bishop in 2009. He served faithfully as the State Bishop of Texas, overseeing eleven churches, and in August 2014, was elevated to First Assistant Presiding Prelate of WAR.

He now serves under the World Manna Fellowship of Churches, led by Presiding Bishop Jonathan Wallace, Sr., where he holds the distinguished position of Presider of the Western Region.

Bishop Ferguson continues to pastor a thriving congregation, minister across the nation, and faithfully teach and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He and Lady Lorna Ferguson enjoy reading, traveling, and spending quality time with their growing family.

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” — Isaiah 6:8
