Bishop Eddie Ferguson
Bishop Ferguson was born in Ashburn, Georgia. At the tender age of eight his family relocated to Houston, Texas. He attended the Houston Independent School District and became a popular athlete at Houston Sterling High School. In 1975 he became a born again Christian and turned in his uniform to become a soldier in the army of the Lord.
He was a dedicated young Christian during his high school years and developed a deep yearning for the word of God. After graduating from High School he further developed his training at Massey Business School and graduated with honors in 1979.
Eddie was raised in the United Pentecostal Church under Bishop James L. Kilgore. At an early age, Eddie became a Bible instructor, teaching as many as two Bible studies a week. Later he met the lovely Lorna McCalister and they married in 1980. They are blessed with two sons, Eddie Jr. and Edward Daniel.
Bishop Ferguson has acquired certification in Biblical Studies and counseling and still continues to pursue higher learning. Over the years he has helped to establish three churches, and in 1991 began a ministry in his home with two people. That work grew over the years and became the Life Tabernacle Church located on southeast side of Houston.
In 2009 he was elevated to the office of Bishop in Baltimore, MD and served as the State Bishop and Overseer of eleven churches in Texas. He continues to pastor a thriving church and travels all over the country preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Bishop Ferguson and Lady Ferguson are blessed with seven grandchildren and enjoy reading, traveling and spending time with their family.
Tough Women in Tough Times
Our deepest desire is for every woman to experience true freedom in the Lord. As Isaiah 42:16 declares, “…I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight…” — we believe that no matter how broken the path, God is able to restore and redeem.
Tough Women in Tough Times is more than a ministry—it's a safe haven where women can find hope, healing, and restoration through Jesus Christ. We understand that healing is a journey, not a race. Women are encouraged to share their struggles at their own pace, learning to trust the Lord to bring calm in the midst of life’s storms.
This is a sacred space where the painful, hidden places of the past are met with God’s light. Here, women begin to walk in freedom, peace, and wholeness, discovering the abundant life Christ has promised. As hearts are mended and minds renewed, women develop a deeper, more intimate relationship with the Lord.
Through His power, Christ restores the years marked by sorrow and turns them into testimonies of grace. Tough Women in Tough Times is where women rise strong—not because life has been easy, but because God has been faithful.
What We Believe
One God
We believe there is only one God, Deuteronomy 6:4. He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit, breath of Life).
Water Baptism in Jesus’ Name
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38.
The Baptism of the Holy Ghost
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues, Acts 2:4.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy, words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, healing, helps and government. Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 2 Corinthians 12:1-11.
